Throughout his career
Ted's practice has focused almost exclusively on preparing and
trying cases. He has successfully represented the City of Seattle
in some of its most significant cases over the past decade, including
the aftermath of the WTO riots, class actions alleging profiling
and constitutional violations, and controversial officer involved
fatalities. While a substantial portion of his practice has been
devoted to representing police agencies and officers in cases
alleging police misconduct, however, his practice includes a
wide variety of other litigation. Generally hired to assist in
defense, he has also obtained multi-million dollar verdicts and
settlements for plaintiffs in product liability and subrogation
cases. His practice also involves commercial disputes, employment
disputes and agricultural related issues. Ted further provides
substantial pro bono assistance to a number of charitable organizations,
including the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation.
He has repeatedly been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" by
Washington Law and Politics magazine.
Ted was born and reared in Idaho and remains an Idahoan at heart.
His free time is fully occupied by four delicious grade school-aged
children, an urgent desire to resurrect his golf game, and his
only other remaining hobby, cooking. Education
